Historic city park neighborhood
Conveniently located just minutes from downtown, Parkside Mansion is close to shopping, hotels, restaurants, and many popular attractions. At 1859 York Street, Parkside sits on the western perimeter of City Park, which has views of Denver’s skyline set against the mountains that provide a stunning backdrop for any event.
Developed from an original 1882 design by Henry Merryweather, the park owes its pastoral feel to the English gardens that preceded it — along with New York’s Central Park, from which Meryweather also drew inspiration. Construction began in 1886, and while its original design is largely intact, a slew of the world’s most famous landscape architects contributed to its improvement throughout the early 20th century.
Today, visitors to City Park can rent paddle boats at Ferril Lake, enjoy a free summer concert series, picnic with friends . . . or even get married!
